ALVAR was founded by an Icelandic sailor who captained a trawling fleet for over 30 years in Siglufjörður, a picturesque town in the north of Iceland. He experienced from the inside the challenges that salmon, fish and seafood producers face in their daily operations. ALVAR's technology was created and developed for decades in the search of a complete solution to avoid bacteria outbreaks in the fish and salmon processing trawlers and factories.<br/ Besides combatting bacteria and avoiding contaminated products, the system also enables companies to improve their sustainability by saving water, chemicals, and staff costs.
